Founding members of the River City String Quartet are Peoria-based musicians Marcia Henry Liebenow and Jane Hoffmire. Many more members make up the quartet and we strive to choose the best players in the area to comprise our groups.

Marcia Henry Liebenow

Marcia is Concertmaster of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra and teaches violin, viola, and chamber music at Bradley University. She performs recitals and solos with orchestras throughout the United States and at the Peoria Bach Festival. In the summer she is a faculty artist at the Red Lodge Music Festival in Montana and the Birch Creek Music Festival in Wisconsin. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Violin Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music degree from Ohio University. Jane Hoffmire

Receiving a full tuition music scholarship, Jane graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance. She furthered her education by attending the University of Illinois, where she was granted a violin teaching assistantship while earning a Master of Music Degree in Violin Performance. Jane is active in the Peoria Bach Festival, as well as various other performance groups in Central IL. In addition, she maintains a private violin studio, in which numerous students have gone on to successfully pursue professional music careers around the US. As manager and contractor for the RCSQ, Jane finds much joy in assisting couples, families, and businesses in creating the perfect musical atmosphere for any event.
